no moon. To me Moon covers look better on a car with a hood... sleek for aerodynamics and stuff.

Moons on one side, caps on the other.

Ed Roth said no one sees both sides of a car at the same time.

I think you should take a pic of that car WITHOUT hubcaps.

I think it would look mean with just plain steel wheels and trim rings-

Put Moons on one side only. I know it sounds crazy.

If I remember right Von Dutch/Roth? once said that you can only see one side of the car at a time. He was talking about his striping though.

I see Haring was thinking the same thoughts!

Keep your current setup or got with chromed steelies. Moon disks arent right for that car IMO.

I agree that the moons don't make sense with the style of the car, but I still like them on there.

There's a killer truck in Last month's R&C with moons on just 1 side.

    exactly my thoughts.

looks like its missing something with no caps at all. looks unfinished. i might rob the chrome reverse from the 53,:D but i'd need bigger tires on rear. just kinda switchin things up for a change, i've had the car for about 9 years, i'm always looking for a new look.

I like the side pic with the moons. It has that 1955-snap-together-kit look to it.

I'd say just screw it and keep the moons on there! But I'm just a poor boy with no money to buy my own wheels and tires!!

Keep the painted rims.........No caps, looks unfinished, ya great that's just the look your rod would look great with (less is more)..... Painted rims with trim rings with chrome lug nuts..... Perfect..... However; caps or moon discs always look great, stay away from chrome reverse rims....

You have a great looking car....

I like the moons and whitewalls- it's different and makes the car look like a racer to me, not sure why but it does  very cool

A race car probably wouldn't have had whitewalls, but it sure looks good.

    couple observations.
White walls and Bigs n Littles = trim rings, babymoons
Black walls and same size tires = moon disks
    .
This is my opinion, which of course only applies to my cars, not yours. Build it the way you like.
Maybe even some pinstriping on the moons. Softens the race look a little.

Moons, whitewalls. I think it looks really good that way--a definate '50s feel and look to it.

Besides...everyone seems to run flat black cars with red steel wheels and trim rings and baby moons and blah blah blah. When's the last time you saw moons with wide whites on a fenderless hot rod? Check the little pages for inspiration--I know for a fact I've seen several full-fendered street cars in little pages with Moons on them. Those aren't what we'd consider "competition cars" when we think about Moons on '50s cars. I think a lot of people ran them on a lot of different types of cars back then.

    I dig it.

I have always thought the moons were cool, if you do run the moons are you going with the snap on hub cap style or the old screw in style?
