Hi Dad, day off? haha
I'm down for anything, and I'm sure I can get a few club cars from ours and others to join in. Check the 2010 New England Car shows thread to see if your date conflicts with other stuff. Theres a calander toward the end of the thread that list everything we got going on in RI, CT and Mass. July has a couple of weekends freed up. If ya go with a date that dosen't overlap stuff up this way I'll spread the word to all the clubs and I bet we'll show up strong man. I'm down!
ok ill check out the dates and try to find a free one
Asbury Lanes is a swell and dandy location for something like this... I was there just a few weeks ago... A friend I went to school with named Bob Piersanti was showing some of his artwork there-- AND there was also a "Burlesque-A-Pades" featuring "The Pontani Sisters"... The DJ played a special preview of a song that my music thing (Big Stick) recently recorded w/Fred Schneider of the B-52s singing vocals with us-- The crowd went wild, dancing up a storm-- The place has an incredibly lively vibe!!-- It's a jumpin' joint for sure... And yes, there are REAL "old skool" bowling lanes you can use... Not to mention the fact that the wide-street parking outside the club really lends itself to having a hot rod themed hootenanny... I believe that Asbury Lanes is a groovy facility with a genuine retro feel-- It would probably be a good choice... I love the club... "The Doc" (Celebrity Drag Racing Authority & Visionary)...
NJ guys - suggest Edison Park, located behind Middlesex County College, free to use, very large, lotsa shaded and open area, Edison, Nj, off Woodbridge Ave., very Central NJ location, equal driving time from North Jersey, or South Jersey, also very close to GSP, NJ Tpke., 287 and Route 1, just a thought?!
Ok then what do you guys think of edison park?
I'll take the drive from Long island
Im in....trying to swap my flathead in my 34 so Ill be in th 55!
I assume your rod doesnt have a overheating problem in traffic haha
Somewere in Cental NJ ( such as Edison ) would work for all. I be there as long as it conflict with our racing
we could also move around to other cruise nights just to get nj area hambers together. whiskey cafe six flags etc.
Now I didnt say how long it would take me to get there! hahahaha Its actually not that bad, I had it in the city Friday night and with the electric fan it stayed under 200.
I might be in, my truck tops out at a staggering 45mph so that might be a hindrance.
Just roll Low and Slow my man
Sounds like a great idea I would drive up and I'm sure there's a few more people from here that would
Spread the word. Just got to figure out some dates and location
I will when ya give me a date and for location I say an open park
Edison sounds great, I'll bring out the Pearl Necklace
edison does sound good...
Edison good with everyone?
Do it. Start throwing out dates soon. The season is starting up. Slim
Could meet up at the White Rose in Edison. Some of the best burgers served up by Rahway's finest ex-cons who are looking to turn over a new leaf.
Really-the burgers are out of this world. Don't let ex-con thing scare you....
What dates would work out for everyone
keep us updated, im local and we have a definate 4 cars that would go for sure.
Third Friday of every month?
Friday evening is a good idea. Slim
I'm in. Car won't be ready but, it would be cool to meet some of ya.
Edison Park NJ Web Site
Shark River Park Web Site
It is a nice 7 mile cruise from Shark River Park to Allaire State Park in case the ranger try's to take the pik-a-nic basket.
Should we start next month?
Roosevelt Park in Edison is a pretty good spot. Central locale very close to Rt. 1, 287, GSP and NJT
