Unfortunately I did not get to go to the swap today. Several of us took time out to honor my cousin and friend Tom Profit at his memorial today. Maybe next year...... Hope you all had a good time and found or unloaded some good stuff! Tom was more of a lurker on the HAMB Bliever was his handle I think.

It was a good meet, got a pair of Lincoln 66FFEF5D-D460-473B-846B-A7ACBF8525E1.jpeg brake drums from Rocket’s garage, also got a pair of 32 Chevy hood sides for $20, going to see if I can modify them to use on the coupe.Weather was perfect,

Didn’t get a chance to go but was lucky enough to get a nice’36 Ford rear fender thanks to F-head. As a bonus, he even dropped it off on his way home!

I used to go all the time but haven’t been in years... exchange rate, dickhead border guards, and a couple of bad experiences with asshole vendors keeps me away. However, in a couple of weeks the 54th (I think) edition of our Coastal Swap Meet will be upon us...

stopped in for one quick pass, bumped into a few people I rarely see, unfortunately being pressed for time I didn't get to say much more than hihowareya and git.
good turnout, lots of vendors, potential buyers and beautiful weather,
couldn't find anything I couldn't live without but it was good to walk around and look at old junk.

I went looking for some front wheels for my gasser project. I found exactly what I was after. Bought a nice large logo 97 stromberg for 30$. There was a ton of cool flathead stuff. My kid found a nice set of buick script finned valve covers for his nailhead project. Great swap! Glad we went.

Great weather today, lots of sun, and it got warm but not overly sweltering, but being in the shade at times made it comfortable. Great turn out, tons of stuff to see, a little bit of everything for everybody. Interesting variety of vehicles in the car coral.

Here are a couple of favorites. Pardon the lack of focus, I had my cell phone in my pocket and forgot to wipe the lens, so the clarity isn't up to what it usually is.

I was focused on a few certain items, and one item was a surprise to me ( the jag grille ).
So here are the scores today, I kept to smaller items. The nose grille from a Jag XK 150 was too good to pass up, it is in really great shape.

    IMG_8393 (2).jpg

The old rusty railroad lantern, minus the glass globe, was a cheap score, it will get the glass globe for it.

    IMG_8398 (2).jpg

    IMG_8399 (2).jpg

Scored a really nice pair of vintage well maintained kerosene lanterns.

    IMG_8400 (2).jpg IMG_8401 (2).jpg

Scored a really well built water tower for a train lay out, the center tube actually has liquid in the center sealed tube, with airspace for the unit to make bubbles.

    IMG_8395 (2).jpg IMG_8394 (2).jpg

Scored a couple of really nice glass lenses .
It was a great day, and I came home with money in my pocket as well. I have learned over the years, because lack of space, to NOT drag home large stuff, that takes up a lot room.
Have a great weekend from Dennis.
