Will and Jim Parton at Edgewater. Will passed away in December of 2014 but the Parton Brothers business appears to be still going in Covington, KY Roo
Hancock Holly Beyer Jim Hale Pretty sure this is the first large mopar wagon I have seen running M/P except the "Hemi Wagon"
Gentleman Jim Hale..Still racing at almost 80. He'll be at Indy, racing a (you guessed it) Plymouth station wagon.
That Hancock, Holly, Beyer 57 Chevrolet Wagon was a local car. Then came Hancock and Woodall 67/68 Camaro, and later, Hancock and Lane Camaro. Jerry Hancock is wheelchair bound, but always involved in a drag car. Still runs a Hancock and Lane car, and has a Facebook page. I am Butch/56sedandelivery. I should add, that photo was taken at the old, original Misson Raceway in B.C., Canada.
How cool would it be to go back in time to the day's of Modified Production and Junior Stock? What a wonderful era for kid to be growing up in!!!!!!!!! Jimbo
^^^^^Yeah, I was there, but my Father would't let me do any of that sort of thing^^^^^. If it was't hunting or fishing or camping, it was a waste of time; that was his stance. But, I faught him every inch of the way, till he finally just gave up on me, and I became a motorhead. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.
Butch this is not a psychoanalyst's couch but I had the same relations with my father only it was sports in his case and grease in mine. First time I got hit in the face with a softball was the end of my sports career. Pat
Yeah, our parents always know what's best for us, NOT!!!!! I won't go into the psychological and physical damage done to me by my Father. I still carry all of that with me every day of my life, and I'm almost 67 years old; he died in 83 at 69 from lung cancer. But I'm much better now (who said that originally, SNL?). I am Butch/56sedandelivery.
Sure love to know more about this wagon (appears to be a 57' 2-door but what running gear and what years campaigned?). - EM
