So I just bought a new project 2 door T sedan I would like your guys Imput on Just channeling the car as apposed to a chop and channel Maybe some pics and a reason why you prefer chopped and channeled or just chopped or just channeled Keep in mind I do have a family so I am leaning towards just a channel no chop. Now I know I will do what I want in the long run anyway reguardless but why would you go your route is it simply stance or does it not look right or what.
I have a 23 sedan, and i plan on chopping at least 8 inches if not 10 outta the roof. gonna run on A rails, with a desoto hemi. Do you have any pics of your new baby?
I'm personally tired of everything dragging the ground, so its my opinion that you lower the lid 4"-5" but let it stand tall and proud with a subtle rake. Ultimately it depends on the wheel tire combo.
metalmike13, post up some pics of your sedan. If I was to build a T sedan right now i would put it on a A chassis w/'32 gas tank hanging off the back. '28/'29 fenders with a few other tricks.
I am picking it up on tuesday night have pics then and will post. The frame I am using is basically just a tube frame that I got from Chris here on the hamb it is all percision cut with a kick up and nice spring perch looks like a speedway frame the guy who cut it out did a fantastic job it has plans as well. I agree on the in the weeds look but I am concerned with chopping it because the roof will look more flat beings it is a sedan there is a lot of top there.
Channeled mine about 4" no chopp I wanted head room I'm a little over 6' and Did not want to lay on the floor to drive it.
A mild chop , 32 rails , SBF and you have it ! DON'T do the SBC like you see all the time ! Just my 2 cents !
My vote, channel the width of the frame if ya like, but no chop. Don't remove the most identifying characteristic of the T, the tall top.
You'll see many different ideas of what people prefer. I kept mine stock height, couldn't give it a chop or channel since the steel had no repairs ever made to it. Decided to reverse the firewall for the motor, and keep it full fendered. I like them highly modified or stock looking, depends on what you start with. At the end of the day, you have to do what makes you happy and the family.
I've got my '26 on TCI Model A rails, no channel, no chop. I've had people tell me it looks like a "cartoon car" but I'm kinda tall, and gonna need all the headroom I can muster
You have to at least channel it the height of the frame. And if you wanna leave it tall, thats cool, but maybe take 2" out of the header above the windshield. This header panel is what makes the T's kinda akward looking from the front. just my cents
A little channel and a little chop is nice. I do agree that the T looks right when left on the tall side.
So here goes a picture try lets see if I can get it right I photoshoped a chop on the cab just a little.
Dare to be different. Think no chop, no channel, plus fenders and running boards. There's too much nice old tin being hacked up to make belly dragging pos's.
Gosh, that thing looks familiar I'd go no channel with a z-d frame, and slight chop- 3-4". Nice rake to it, but not extreme. Good tire/wheel size and a stock nickle 26/27 grill as well. Lights maybe king bees and you've got it. Kinnda the late 50's-early 60's high school ride. I know this is an A sedan on 32 rails...but kinnda along these lines. Maybe even a little higher. I love T's for their "goofy" look, but don't make it look Muster-Mobile.
I know it's not a sedan, but this is how I plan to do my recently aquired coupe. I stole this pic from another post, the only info I remember was the 2inch chop, maybe someone has more.
