  2. Hi Michael,

excellent build! Did you scratch the surfboard? Looks like it is made of wood.

Here are my kits that I'm working on. I recently bought some gluebombs that I am restoring/reworking at the moment.

I've started with an AMT 65 Chevelle ELCamino. Took off the paint, added a hood over the bed and shaved all emblems, door handles, removed the rear lights, radiused the rear wheel wells and added a blower and a roll bar. Now I have to paint it and change the angle of the header extensions.

Restoring old models gives me a lot of satisfaction.

Another one I'm working on, the classic Revell 49 Merc, this one straight from the box:

  7. Cool kits!
What means "found"? You found them in your basement, a shop, Evilbay, fleamarket,...?

Actually, my friend had them and wanted me to haul them to Goodguys Scottsdale for him and try to sell them, so I just traded him some work for them!

It seems a good trade! Unless you have to sand his car or polish his new paint job......

Here's a wacky little something that I finished up earlier this week...
A 1953 Hudson altered drag car, that I call... BIG FAT FANNIE

New rear wheel openings were made, well forward of their stock position, and the chassis from a Revell "Miss Deal" (what else?)
was modified slightly to fit... The chassis was also modified to move the front axle forward and the wheel openings extended....
The front axle, itself, is a modified unit from the "Boot Hill Express" show rod,
while the rear suspension was modified from the Miss Deal to bring the rear back down a bit.

Body-wise, a rolled lip was added around the rear wheel openings, the front bumper deleted, and a scoop from my parts box
was added to the hood... Paint is Testors "Pure Gold" lacquer... Decals were made by me, using my computer.
Rear wheels and slicks are from the "Miss Deal", while the front wheels are from a Polar Lights funny car kit, with Miss Deal tires.
Though you can't see them through the tinted windows, the interior feature a metalflake gold steering wheel and bucket seats from my parts box.

A unique race car deserves an unusual power plant, so an injected Cadillac was pieced together,
using the basic block and head assembly from Revell's custom Mercury kit, along with bits from AMT's '59 El Camino,
the injector's from Revell's Anglia, and more stuff from my parts box, headers were built from scratch...
The firewall was tunneled to accept the extreme engine setback, and a fuel tank of unknown origin was mounted up front.
One more look, this time out in the sunlight....

  28. Nice work everyone, specially Marty & Lyle. Looks like the front wheels on the new Olds kit are too far rearward, is this a kit problem?...I haven't got one of those yet.
