Do anyone have pics of model a frames using the original crossmembers found in 40 thru 48 cars? I tried a couple searches but ended up with hundreds of threads about model a's or lots of crossmember threads. I'm talking about using the full length legs and center box section, trimming to fit of course.
    Thanks,
    Mike

not sure how that would work? model a frame is like 4" tall and 40-48 are around 6" tall. 32 frames are 6" tall it could work on that and look right.

This is a 32 frame and I think he's a HAMBer. There was a thread on this at sometime?

I've seen Model As done this way but a 32 frame is way different to a Model A frame

You pie cut the legs so they taper to the skinner model A rail.

thanks for posting that video, nice work.

  8. Sorry I don't have a Video for you. These photos have been around here several years now. This is a 36 X member, pretty much same as 39. I didn't let the tranny mount dictate where I mounted the X unit. I mounted my Body and positioned the pedals in relation to the floor/firewall. I also used a 39 pedal unit, non split front bones and closed drive. Kind of the same as Aaron D only different.

Thanks guys, the responses and pics/video are great. I had not thought about sectioning a crossmember/legs but now looking at it, it makes sense to me. Anybody got more, throw them in here.

Not an 'A' but I used a modified 46 Olds X-Member in a friends 42 Chevy PU with OEM trailing arm suspension with a 9" and coil overs.
