    so i picked up a model a body the other day and have no clue what year it is any help would be great the rear tub in the picture is not model i just had it set on there for a mock up[​IMG]

    what the differences between 28/29 and a 30/31
     

  4. Check out the shape of the gas tank and the firewall. There were a few 4 door bodies with tanks that looked similar to a '30-'31 but yours is definitely a '30-'31.

    28/29 and 30/31 have different shaped cowl. late 31 has large indention in firewall. Your fence needs repair, too.
     
  7. quick way to tell, cowls are narrower on the 28/29 with a step out at the front door hinge.
     
  8. i don't believe back half goes with front. bead lines don't match

    The easiest way to tell is on the cowl by the door posts. Major difference between early and later A's.

    it doesnt it was just included in the deal so i couldnt just leave it behind

    fyi. I believe the back half is probably 27 or 28 chevy. Did ya get any more parts of the back half?

    i did get some window mouldings with it im pretty sure its the same car its the same color but they have been hacked up pretty good

    I would like to build a little pick up out of it but havent been able to find parts to do so.
    and i noticed your from colorado and was wondering if you happen to know if martins auto salvage in greeley has any model a pick up parts i havent been up there for awhile

    It's been awhile since I was there, but if any of the yards around the area has some model A stuff it would be them, or Berts early ford parts. probably Berts would be the one with parts for your build idea.

    Sure looks like 27-28 chevy rear body parts.
