So are they original or not?

  2. They didn't come from the Ford factory. May be a period accessory or a current reproduction from Rootlieb. The Chevrolets used hood sides that looked like that in the early thirties.

  3. Look like Rootleib Chevy copies made for Model A's.

They did make aftermarket chev style hoods for model As back in the day. Obviously pretty rare but I've heard an old hot rodder talk about owning a set before. JohnnyA

  5. One way or the other, they are very cool, and the car as well.

  6. Rootlieb does indeed manufacture this hood. HRP

Thanks for the responses guys. I knew the 32 era of Chevy had that style of side panels, and initially thought that's what it was from a distance. Saw the blue oval and went back to take pictures, the side panels looked too good for someone to have welded that in from a Chevy, so I thought I'd check... Thanks!

interesting body on that one. the top looks taller and the sides are definitely different than most.

Here's an aftermarket set that look like they've been with the car for some time. JohnnyA
