model A saddle tank fuel filler

    the saddle tanks came with billet bungs and a rubber grommets to allow the the fuel nozzle to pass through the splash apron. they look too high tec for the look i'm after. one other alternative is to fit a fuel flap again not the look i'm after.

    SO i bought some twist on fuel caps that they use on chopper fuel tanks

    fitted the saddle tank to work out where the center of the filler hole will be

    then i fitted the splash apron, marked the center point and using a hole cutter to cut a hole for the filler neck

    the filler neck is the tacked on to the apron

    looking through the filler neck you can see the push thru cap on the saddle tank
    [​IMG]

    welded the neck on and put the cap on to see what it looked like

    i think it looks more period looking now

  2. I like those caps much better than the billit caps. Looks good. Gonna' be a nice Tudor when it's done. Glad to see there are still a few being built with fenders. :)
