There are a bunch of Model A build threads on here that show several different ways to do the floors. I've got a 31 Victoria that the floor is 75% wood on and it's going to end up with an all or almost all steel floor by the time I'm done.

  6. is it a `30 four door? i believe that the sub-rails in them are wood from the factory and usually all rotted away. the doors are wood framed too , i'd try to replace it all with steel

maybe you could post some pictures so we can see what you have

Have you considered formica? Lotta cool designs in it and it goes real good with glastron boat seat covers. Just kiddin thirtyfordor. I'd go back with steel subframe and steel panels. Then no more termite worries plus the steel is alot lighter and stiffer.

In my old rod shown above, I added sort of a K frame to the main frame, made from 1x1 steel tube, welded to the main frame.... Then I bolted the body to the main frame, adding body mount tabs to the frame where necessary. Finally I put the wood floor in, as I recall 3/4 plywood.

What are you going to use for sub rails, I just picked up a 30 Vicky and was thinking about using some sub rails from a coupe or sedan. Thoughts?
