Not sure what the difference is but I have these two front axles I picked up a couple years ago for a vw bug volksrod project but I was wondering if one of these would be strong enough for my v8 project Comet car and if the area where the king pin is and or axle itself would be strong enough to use? Thanks.
What you have hanging from your rafters are Model T axles. It would be a poor choice for your project because mounting points for ether drum or disc brakes are non existent. Model A would be slightly better but Model A used mechanical brakes and will need to be modified for hydraulic brakes. If you really want to use this type of axle I would look for 1940 or later Ford.
SO BELOW Those are really only good for a T gowjob build. You want a later axle and spindles. The wishbones can be bent into hairpins if you have a pair of them though.
Thanks for the replies. I was just curious only because I have them, that is all. I will however use one on the volksrod because not much weight in the front and im only useing rear brakes.
