Does anyone know who makes a mustang 2 cross member for a 30 Model A Ford. I have a friend who has an old sedan delivery with a Corvair front end and he wants to changed to a Mustang. I know this is not a highly recommended car to put one on - but it has to be better than what he has.
Mustang II doesn't work well with A's. the top hats won't clear the fenders and the front mounted rack won't clear the apron. Of course that's assuming it's full fendered, please tell me you weren't even thinking this for a fenderless! They make aftermarket tubular a arm kits for A's but why not a axle. Pretty simple to replace the spring C/M after the Corvair stuff is gone and it won't cost any more. Best look for an A.
Look up speedway, theyve got cheapy straight axles starting around 350 i think. Nothing looks worse than an ifs on an early car. heck,e ven the corvair has more street cred since its oldschool than a mustang 2.
4"drop axle - $250 new 1"drop crossmember - $ 75 $325 less than the price of a MMII crossmember the used/new parts for both cost the same PLUS: No One Here Likes a MMII on a Model A
No, I meant why in hell would some one put a Mustang II under a Model "A"?!?! Can't think of anything less suited or ugly...
