It's finally finished...but I still have a couple of bugs to work out...nothing major. I'm REALY happy with the way it came out! I bought the body a couple of years ago at the swapmeet on the spur of the moment....I allready had two model A coupe's...but THIS was a '29!!! (I'm sick but most of you understand) I took it straight to my buddy Ralph's shop. He's an expert fabricator, and bodyman. I had a 331 Hemi that I had picked up previously, so it all fell into place to build a Hemi-powered A coupe. I wanted it 60's style, with chrome, and a flashy paintjob and interior. Me and MBL can build a hot rod, but not to the level Ralph can! He made a custom frame, and I layed down what all I wanted the car to be. It came out better than I had hoped, and just exactly what I wanted! Me and MBL were building my '29 truck, while Ralph was working on the coupe, as well as his coupe. I think my 60's style ideas were influencing him by the looks of his car! I would go to Ralph's after work, and on weekends alot, to check progress, and do some grunt work. (I almost died one hot saturday, tearing down the hemi, and stripping, and cleaning it!) It sounds sweet, and runs, and drives sweet too. I'm happy! The Lineup...My truck, and MBL's Roadster. Some 'artsy' shots... Ralph's coupe...
Freakin killer you got it dead on with the traditional style man very good job. Nice color to really pops
Thanks guys! It's a Hemi-powered go-cart for sure! It's an Edmunds intake...it runs REAL smooth. -Jon
Oh man.....I can't wait to see this in person....another '60's Style REAL HotRod in Florida ! ......WOW.....it's spot-on, you have really nailed it. Congradulations.
Nice ride! i hope you can bring it up to Spring Hill one thursday night to meet the lot of us Poor Boys. I do have a question though. Are you really that tall that you needed to make the roof higher than it was origionally? Just kidding man. Its a nice rarity to see an unchopped A.
Yeah...I have to admit that I'm not really a huge fan of the 60's style rods...I mostly dig the 30's through the early 50's...but I have to say this thing is killer. Those open pipes sound just right. Pics don't do the color justice...you have to see it out in the sun and in person. Tim MBL
WOW! That's a stunner. It's nice to see an unchopped "A". Hope we get a chance to see it one of these days. Hats off to all concerned with this build. Mike
Well as far as the chop is conserned...Jon is too tall. and so is Ralph. I'll chop mine when I get to building a coupe, as I have no such height requirements. We will try and get up to see you Poor Boys soon..I think Jon just needs to get the coupe registered. Tim MBL
Hey that night shot sure looks cool, any more build pictures? sure would like to see them. Great job!
I am sure that Jon has quite a few build pics..he'll probably post some tonight. The lighting in that old shop is great for night time shots...I just have to get a tripod to hold still. And get used to how the camera works... Tim MBL
very sweet ride there...can't wait to see it in person, its great to see a 60's style rod close to home......rooster
Do you need any help driving them to the nats in October?? I'll help.... Seriously though, that car is bad ass!!! I can't wait to see it. I gotta come down there one of these days soon.
Yeah dude..you need to get down to the ranch...and we might just need some assistance getting all the cars to the Nats. Tim MBL
