model a ford frame

i am building a model a ford speedster. i am working on the frame. i cut the rear cross member off and left six inches of frame hooked to it. i set the rear cross member on top of the frame and widened the frame to match. before i cut it, i used my angle finder with the frame level. the rear cross member was different on both sides.I put it back level just like the cross member thats in the middle of the frame.Is this correct? thanks

 

Sounds like you're building a doodlebug, not a speedster.
