model a engine block weight

    Anyone know the weight of a bare block. My grandfather is going to pick an engine in pieces and I wonder what the bare block weighs and if he and my uncle would be able to pick it up between the two of them.

    I'd say around 200-300 lbs, much lighter with absolutely no components in it.

    My father and I hand lifted a Model B short block into my chassis.

  3. I just sold some A motors and one was a bare block with nothing attached and I could pick it up by myself. If there is going to be two people they shouldn't have any problems.
     
  4. I've got a T bare block and I can move it around myself... And I'm only about 160lbs wet.

    Thanks guys. I told them they could do it since I can pick up a bare small block chevy by myself. Thanks for the back up.
