Building a Model A coupe with a friend we installed the Mills Works rear spring and Pete and Jakes front suspension. Retaining the stock Model A banger and rear end I installed some new steel wheels from Speedway with the big ford pattern around the car.

The rear wheels are not seating around the Stock Model A rear hubs? This also does not allow for safe stud length. I suspect the rear hub could be removed and the center lip removed? This also adds strength to the hub and studs so looking for direction 20200411_155851.jpg ...I'm sure many have done this combo so any info would be appreciated....

Most run spacers to give a flat surface for the wheels to seat , Auto parts stores sell them in pairs . DORMAN part#711-916 is one of many brands available

But that still doesn't solve the stud issue...

I guess cut the swedge remove the studs and drill the hole to size for longer press in studs.

Lots of people cut the ridge off the drum with no issue since that was brought up

On my cabriolet I cut out the old studs and installed longer ones and also used spacers.dont have the number for the studs right now but it's a common swap.im sure someone has the numbers.nice coupe,it sits perfect 20200328_114347.jpg

  9. You need the longer studs but you can’t use standard ones as they will perturb out from the hub face and rub on the backing plate area.
The A studs have a tapered head which sit flush into the rear of the hub.
They also have a indexing type key that prevents them from turning in the hub once swagged in place.
Any of the A Model parts joints should have the longer studs you need.
