    You're probably right!

    I'm going to pull the plugs today for inspection and get it at TDC and take a look at the points and measure dwell.

    I am not a big points fan and I'm really fighting the urge to change it out for pertronix or something similar.

    It allows you to hold the throttle at a certain point of your liking, useful for warmup and starting with the hand-crank.

    As far as points go, either keep them in there or don't. Frankly, I have yet to have a problem with mine, and since you are going to be tearing into the car and tuning and lubing everything every couple hundred miles anyway, a regular points adjustment is a non-event. Much less the old argument of I can swap points on the side of the road, but I ain't gonna have a spare pertronix unit handy every day...
