always...........looks like i might have to attempt this.

  9. I'll look for pics and post them when I get to my regular computer. I am building a '29 cabriolet myself. ...but will keep the four banger. Over the years I have seen only a couple Model A rodded cabriolets, none with chopped tops.

The big difficulty with chopping a cabriolet would be making the landau irons fit right after cutting the top down. To make everything fit, you would likely need to make new, shorter landau irons.

I was looking for a better pic of this car. Clark Bates built it a few years ago.

I thought I took a few pics of a 1930, 68B at Pleasanton this last year, but have not found it yet.

This is from the Aug. 2010 West Coast Nationals, a '31 68B:

...going back a few years more:

I was sure I had more pics of Model A cabriolets, but this seems to be about it. My own '29 is not together yet, so no pics of it here.

  19. Slick, only photos 4 & 5 appear to be of cabriolets. The other two cars appear to be based on a sport coupe or similar body style. All the Model A cabriolet bodies were built for Ford by Briggs Mfg. Co. and are quite different. That said, I really like the style of that first car.
