Does anyone know who the seller is at the Hershey swap meet that brings the tractor trailer full of rusty bodies? I'm hoping to find out if its a certain company that I can check prices and availability on a body.
are you talking about the guy, in the chocolate field,on the main road in, towards the chocolate field annex? i don't know his name, but i think my buddy has his card.
my friend [mallomike] just got back to me. if it is that vender he is from Montana and advertises in hemmings all the time. he said to look for the large list of bodies. he will look for the card tonight when he gets home from work..
I'm looking for something pretty beat up preferably a sedan and fairly cheap. I found a website for a couple guys from Minnesota that have some for reasonable prices but its also a 20 hour drive for me. They have a pickup cab made from a sedan for $200 which would be great but I would like a back seat. Right now I have my homebuilt roadster pickup in my avatar but I would like something I can fit my family in. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
It was Rufus Ranch. My wife found it on google or something. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
There's usually a few bodies on CL up in NH or Maine. You'd be more like 20 hours round trip that way at least
Search craigslist in the Indiana area, probably show up on the Indianapolis list. I think the guy might actually be in Arcola??? He brings goosenecks full back from out west. I have heard mixed things about him but they look decently priced.
I think the vendor you are looking for is Doug Born from Co. Phone number 970-686-2926. He has adds in hemmings motor news.
Not sure if this is the guy you are talking about but you can buy ahead of time and they bring out to Hershey. Another HAMBr turned me on to them, havent bought anything but I'm looking. http://www.rockymountainrelics.net/
Rocky mountain relics is the guy with the big display across from dennis carpenter. According to the ad in Hemmings (august2013 issue) there phone # 970-686-2926 web site WWW.rockymountainrelics.net. Hope this helps.
How come no one seems to want to make a road trip anymore? Twenty hours one way to get what I want does not seem to be a problem more like an opportunity. Who know what you will find along the way.
I just found a glass 29 roadster for a good price and 7 hours away. If the guy calls me back I may be picking it up this weekend. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Sounds like there is no bottom 3-4 inches. I have a pickup here better than that by a bit and a lot closer, that I have sold but the guy just tried to back out on.
Gas here is about $5.50 a gallon so a road to to the US is bargain time! Still would not stop me from going if the other party had what I wanted.
