Jesus, I just found this thread. Raphael is an absolute artist with metal. That tank is an astounding work of art. Love the build so far and for his first build its killer. Lowtec excellent images and I like your web site also.

Amazing work! You kind of messed up the tank, but.......keep workin' at it and you can save it. HeHeHe

  8. The story of the three window model A coupe continues... Builder Raphael has finally decided on the type of wheels he's gonna use. And we all know how important this is, so this was no easy task. I think it looks awesome as it perfectly captures the european 1930s race car vibe he was after. The rear end still needs to be narrowed a little but the quick mock-up gives a good idea of the final stance.

  17. Finally... a new update. The coupe isn't finished yet but it's running! Raphael finished assembling the frame and drivetrain, took it all apart again and sent it to the painter (Andy Siegrist). He had planned to take it to the 10th anniversary party of our friend Chris' hot rod shop as a surprise. So, suddenly there was a deadline. Raphael worked on the car on every evening and during whole weekends and got more than one helping hand during the last minute thrash, especially by fellow ACES member Marcel Moser. Together they didn't just get the car running, but they got it driving in a straight line and even braking.

The body is still in bare metal but is soon going to be painted. I think, it would look great just the way it is, but Raphael wants it to get a smooth paintjob. But judge for yourself.

    Maannn. That thing is beautiful.

Why didn't Henry make a 3-window Model A back then? This is proof he should have. Absolute perfection.

So refreshing to see. An absolute craftsman. This build is an example of what I think we all wish we could do but are unable. Stunning work. Thank you Low Tech for letting us see what beautiful work Raphael does. It's truly inspiring.

Wow. I got to the brass gas tank, and had to skip to the latest updates. Lookin' good.

I think that may be the most beautiful gas tank I've ever seen.

Absolutely amazing. Hands down the most beautiful fuel tank I've ever seen.

  28. As much as I love the craftsmanship it took to build that cool track nose, I think this car just has to have, a Model A grille. Anything else confuses the identity, which defeats the purpose of creating a 3 window A. It would feed the mystique of, "What If Henry built it"?

  29. Thank you all for the nice comments, I'll forward them to Raphael.

@Entlebucher: sure, or you come to Langenthal and have a couple of beers with us!

  30. That's a good point. btw. Raphael is currently building a hood, so the look is about to change again.
