http://albums.phanfare.com/isolated/yhNZuiuU/2644199/4034618 Here is a link to some pictures for the Misfits 1st Poker Run. Great drive through Sumner, Orting, Wilkerson, Enumclaw, and surrounding area. Big thanks to the "guinea pigs" that joined us! Lots of great cars and people. A big thank you to the Misfits as well for all your planning and preparation. Thanks to Walt and crew at the Riverside in Sumner for hosting our post run award festivities. I am sure Boones (Ken) will have a lot more and a lot better pictures to add before long.
I am downloading my photos and will post then later today. After what seemed like a month of great weather we got some cooler temps to make for an enjoyable day of country road driving. It was a good turn out considering this is a word of month event and was planned in a short period. I think everyone had fun with only one casuality.
Thanks for the invite guys we had a blast. Josh worked on his truck the night before just to drive it. We need to do this more often. Thanks again. Steve Glucoft Amocat Speed Emporium
Josh Higgins was the winner of the Misfits Pick trophy with his 1941 Ford 1-1/2 Ton flatbed. Flathead powered, stock trans, and a single speed rear end. He was hill climbin', double clucthin', truck drivin' fool. I forgot to get a picture of the trophy that Mike Fry mad out of the remains of his 389 Poncho, but it was cool. Once again Boones will post pictures. Check out Pauls snazzy jacket in the background.
All the pictures I took can be found at the link below http://public.fotki.com/boones/car_shows/misfits-road-riot/ I am going to start off with Pictures of the Misfits member that had their rides there. We are a small group and other then a small decal on one of our windows we really stay low key. one of our members was not able to drive his ride due to motor issues, but that motor did contribute some parts to the Club Pick trophy
Brock, I will give half the credit to Mrs Boones this trip. She out did herself for a first timer shooting while I drove especially with some of the rougher twisty roads...
Man that was a fun day. Thanks to all that came. Brock, Boones, thanks for the pics as I took none. The wife tried to get a picture of that stupid deer but with me swerving and dodging it was all just a blur.
Damn looks like a good show. I can't wait to get home on Wed. I have to get the alignment done on the ford so I go to some shows.
while Im not an official member of the Misfits, when they ask if I wanted to help them put on this run I jumped at the chance. Told work they could suck it, I had more important things to do, got the wagon running and showed up early. Had a great day with all who showed up. We talked about doing this for a while now and Im glad we finally went for it. Spreading the word about it we were worried, what if no one showes up or what if alot of cars show up? I think the number was just what we were looking for. Just enough to get our feet wet and see if its a tradition we want to continue. (I vote yes) Thanks agin to everyone who made it happen!!!
