Merc guys out there,
Would like to see some pics of yours for getting some ideas.
This is my favorite merc. Its still freakin way cool without a Chop
Needs A Little Off The Top
Here's a few I had saved.
Pretty neat for being a 4 door....
Yeah I love the four doors = )
This is Bottomfeeder's. More pics is the South Austin Speed Shop gallery...Mechanicals by Charlie and Roach, paint and body by the one and freakin only Gary Howard, and sublime upholstery by Fat Luckys. This car cannot be improved upon...it is the shit!
Oh, and photography by Bill Geisler
Aint a merc but use your imagination.
Heres a pic of my mildly customed 52 four door. I think it turned out awesome. I know its not a merc but I hope it shows that not everything has to look one way to be cool.
here is my buddys 4dr.
heres mine. took off 4" off. hindsight i would have taken more off the back and swung the B pillars forward a bit. it makes them look way meaner. anyway. good luck

JimA's dad has one of the nicest one's I've ever seen. This thing is spot on...
we've got one in the shop right now built by South Austin Speed Shop...going to be dripping in deep candy red after Round up.
A FEW UNCHOP MERC,S
My unchopped '49
I could look at pics of that Merc all day.
not a Merc, but close... People ask me how much it's chopped all the time, but it's not.
But have you seen under the hood?
More pics here...
Yeah. Badass. Saw it on the flathead Jack site I think, either that or was it Butchs Rod shop? One of the two. Awesome car.
...you could...or...you could go finish the shoebox ya bum! go back to your shop and do some work! ...before i tell Doo that you're slackin' off again!
My good friend Foxie's unchopped '50.
Aint this a fine example that mercs are already beautiful as they came from factory ?
When this post came up I thought about this all black one with Buick headlights.. but I just could not find the photo... I finally found it.. I really love this one...
And here are a few from the 50's
Valley Customs Built this clean 51... it has a 51 Lincoln rear bumper.
it has a 51 Lincoln rear bumper.
Gene Winfield's 51 Merc before he chopped it...
Barris built this one... low
EXACTLY how I would do one. Only thing I had different in my mind's eye is a floating grille bar. That is absolutely freaking dead-on. I love them unchopped and without skirts. You don't usually find them that way...
Rikster whats the front bumper on the 1st one?
Is it just me, or do the 'Mercs always just look alot more the custom-part than the Fords?
oops sorry , whats the bumper center in the 2nd pik by Rikster (black and white)
Looks like a stock bumper to me with a center piece made out of bend tubing molded to the bumper, then the whole things was replated.
Here is s close up of it.
Anyone have pics of Bill Wendt`s Merc. from the late 70`s. It was black with red interior, louvered hood, etc. He slso had AA/FA styled T ,with a blown Hemi. Wing on top ,spindle mounts .Awesome cars back then.
