Mig welding gas

    Argon being inert, each gas having a density, guess a mixing it up wouldn't hurt, anyone?

    80/20 mix for over 20 yrs now for the mig. 100 argon on the tig.

  3. For MIG welding steel, I use 75/25. For MIG welding aluminum, I use Argon. You can MIG weld steel with pure Argon, but the gas costs more, you won't get the penetration of the 75/25.
    For the TIG, I use pure Argon for everything.
    Buy your own bottles, it is worth the investment.
