MIG and TIG Welding info

    I don't have a TIG and was thinking about welding stainless with a mig. Looks like the choice of gas makes a big difference after reading some of the info this site has to offer. It has a lot of techinical info way over my head but what the hell. Never too old to learn. TIG and MIG info too.

  2. Part of the appeal of stainless is the beauty of properly done TIG welds on parts. Could you have somebody TIG stuff for you and let you observe and learn the technique? There's quite a few entry-level TIG machines that are reasonable in cost and do a fine job. You might check out weldingtipsandtricks.com too.

    We do alot of SS, and just started using trigas...works great on our MIG machines. Still do tig when it has to be real pretty, but the mig ain't too bad, especially in the field.
