metric thread tech

    Here's an easy one. To figure out metric tap drill size subtract the pitch from the major diameter and you got it. Say a thread of 6mmX1 pitch, subtract 1 from 6 and you have the tap drill size.

    But still, pretty good to know how to find the tap drill dia.

    I put metric bolts on my cars just to screw with people!

    Not really but I'd bet that would piss a new owner off.

    It is a good piece of tech.... and is NOT O/T.... with out metric threads on your car you would not have spark plugs. and then where would you be??:eek:

    You think im messing with you.... dont you.... you might want to go and put a thread gage on your plug thread. The only standard threaded ones Ive seen are some BIG industrial jobs. and yes I know the hex is standard:)
     
  8. use them all day long! can't remember when i used a set of standard allens last time because the machine i repair are german, all metric and stainless.:D

    i have horrible nightmares about those metric allen heads.... i cant count how many of those allen sets i have... i cant find them when i need them
