Well a group of us meet about every 3 or so months and have an informal metal shapeing class. from the first time you have a hammer in your hands to full on panel making.

Im not the lead man on this, a man named Gordon Bartlet is. However he isnt a hamb guy (rolls royce resotrations) so I gonna step up and be the Hamb contact. well Im just gonna copy and paste this from a email

this isnt a hamb only event... every thing from stock car guys MC guys to a dude making a S7... so this isn't just a hamb friendly shapeing class... pm me your contact info and I'll forward it over to Don ( Gordon) so we can get you on the mailing list.

this is the first time not a Jasons shop but if it is the same as before its just 20$ for lunch. BRING your own PPE. there is plenty of extra tools if you dont have them, but if you do have stuff bring it.

look forward to hearing from you

That sounds like fun.. but that's out there a bit. Any reason to do it so far away from any cities?

That stems from the fact the people from Dallas, San Antonio, Houston, Austin, and Lubbock Texas all make the group. This location kinda splits up the driving for everyone... It was a bit more towards Dallas in the past, at Jason's shop Texas Bike Works.

Like I said, not really a class per se more of a workshop.

completely green to masters are encouraged to come.

PM me an email address so I can get it over to Don if your interested in more info and so we can get an idea of the number of guys going.

That sounds like a good one, wish I had the time and extra cash to make a trip to my mother in laws for a few days.

Gatesville isn't that far off the beaten path (I-35) as it seems to some. I lived in McGregor for the first 8 years I was married before moving back up here.

Thanks Richard for keeping this post going near the top. This IS a workshop for metal shaping for all degrees of experience. We learn from each other. I will be bringing tucking fork, beater bag with stand, medium egg shaped anvil, shrinker/stretchers and air powered planishing hammer.
    Peace,
    Chaz

  15. Guys, this a gathering where you can gain MUCH knowledge, that can't be found in a book or video. Highly recommended!
