Time for the 2nd Annual Metal flake drive in. We have tons in store for the show and every thing is taking shape fast, This year we have the entire Galveston county fairgrounds for the show in Hitchcock tx so plenty of room for everything for 2 days of fun. We look forward to having everyone at the show and enjoying a weekend of cars, bikes friends, families, parties and enjoying the lifestyle we live for.

We look forward to seeing everyone and all the hot rods...............Magic

A show about the cars, bikes and lifestyle. Not a lawn chair fest. Getting back to the roots of the old Rod Run with plenty to do for all, Cruises, parties, games, friends/family and the chance to hang out with others that share the passion not Drama.

We will be having a cruise/Fun Run around Clear Lake stoping at lots of the local hot spots and attractions. There is a Pin UP contest with lots of lovely ladies. Several Nostalgia Dragsters on hand to view and cackle fest. Tons of games for all young and old kids alike. Lots of local builders and custom shops showing off there latest creations. Plenty of Music.

There are several parties being planed for additional entertainment in several locations. Keep checking back as details will be added as we get them. We are on Facebook as well and look forward to seeing everyone and there rides, projects and works of art.

We still have room for some vendors since we have gotton a much better venue, and room for corporate displays as well, we are encouraging builders that want the exposure to contact us, we will have several builders and specialty shops with thier displays. Last year we had aprox 350 vehicles and anticipate much more this year.

Last year we had a scheduling conflict with the Day of the Drags in Temple put on by the Kontinentals, They are Oct 1-2 so please support there show as well, we have worked it out so we can be at thier show and hope to have all there crowd be able to attend our show this year October 23 & 24.

Please support our sponsors as they help keep these shows going for all of us:

Magic- I told myself not to go to any car shows until my Chevy is back roadworthy, I went to one last weekend in New Jersey that was badass, but your show was alot of fun last year. Keep me posted on what you decide and if I don't hear from you I'll holler at you Monday.

OK we are going to start making annoucements of special events and happenings at the show, so figured this would be first and give everyone time to prepare.

We will be holding much the anticipated championship "VALVE COVER RACES". We will have two classes kids 13 and under and 14 and up. then a championship race of champions classes. If your not sure what a valve cover race is it pretty much like a pinewood derby but with a automotive valve cover, paint them, chrome them, be as creative as you can just have fun with it, or build a couple with your kids. it will be fun

Magic, we sure are happy to be playing at the Metal Flake show! From what I'm hearing HAMB'ers this is shaping out to be one for the record books in this area. Make sure that y'all support local shows/bands/businesses. Cheers, Sam Navarro

I just wanted to say how much we appreciate all the support and backing we have recieved, it is almost overwhelming all the sponsors, friends, clubs and shops from around the country, and fellow hot rodders. We have had nothing but positive input and support, and groups that are bringing anywhere from 2-3 to one organization that today said they had 86 guys that were rolling out to the show. We have the entire county fairgrounds and are looking to fill it up, we have tons of activities for kids and adults as well, along with severall events for the eavning after the show. We look forward to seeing everyone and the chance to hang out and have a great time. We do have room for a few more vendors so give me a shout, and if you want to have your company or organization represented we would be honored to represent you, just contact us and send us whatever advertisising item you want to have put in all the goodie bags.

If your on Face book check out Metal Flake Drive In lots of picks and updates, and announcments. Any questions or info [email protected] or 281.286.2106 shop

Once again All of the support and help spreading the word is extremely appreciated. I am going to try to add the new flyerbut have had a few issues. Looking forward to seeing everyone be safe and get all those last min projects finished and get to the show...........

Metal Flake Drive In We will be unveiling a very special charity/project at the show that will have to do with benifiting a soildier that has been wounded in a life changing way, and see if a bunch of us hot rodders can change a wounded soldiers life in a positive direction. There will be several updates to this as it will take a lot of in...put, volunteers and people and companies that want to be involved in a very positive project

Congrats to the day of the drags for a great show and thanks To the Kontinentals for handing out some of the flyers to our show it was greatly appreciated, just wish I could have made it but to much going on.

We are looking forward to having the day of the drags crowd come join us this year since we have both moved dates, any nostalgia racers we will have a cacklfest section and welcome the racers. We have had a tremendous response and looking forward to a great show, good friends, meeting new ones and seeing all the hot rods.

We have tons planed and plenty to do for the young and old, we have the cruise/reliability run around the area and local hot spots, lots of games and events on site, there are some after partys at local hot rod shops, and another party at the local rollerderby who are planning a lot along with the rollerderby races, and for those who want to cruise to Galveston aprox20 miles the historic strand has plenty of entertainment business looking forward to having you down, if you have any questions or need info give me a shout at the shop 281.286.2106 if goes to voice mail means i am working leave message and I call you back or email me at [email protected] we have had a huge response and support and look forward to seeing everyone, meeting some friends, making a few new ones, and checking out all the hot rods. make your plans now and plan on being part of a great show. Also got to mention Sam NAvaro will be playing and releasing a lot of new music, and Angela Morales photography will be hosting a killer pin up show. Don't miss out............

    real low turn out...

    Sam Navaro was Awesome though!

  26. I was disapointed more cars didn't show up. We left around three to go to the Highway Horrors party, more cars may have showed up later. Nice place for a show, however. The weather was cool, nice breeze. Sam and the boys were great, I don't know why they had him play at noon. The cow that got loose and ran by was funny!

I was dissapointed also. I don't understand why the swap meet and spectator parking was in the grass and the show was in the dirt parking lot. Sam Navarro was good though. I'm glad they caught the cow before someone's car got hoof prints on the hood.

I was real disappointed in this show. Last year there were plenty of trees and cement. This year there was no shade and plenty of dirt it was like parking in a dust bowl. I also don't know why they hid all the cars behind the pavilion in the dirt on a windy day and let all the spectators and the swap meet be in the grass. There were maybe 50 cars total that showed up and I think most were gone by 3. I am glad that atleast they had Sam Navarro play and gave free tshirts and striped plaques for the registered cars so it wasn't a total waste of time. Plus it put me on that side of town for the Highway Horrors party later on in the day and that thing was a blast. Next year I will just skip this one and go straight to the HH party. But this is just my .02

Hey Guys First off I want to say I am sorry for a lot of the confusion and and most was out of my control when we booked the grounds we were supposed to be the only event there and they completely destroyed the 30 acres of parking and we had to try to adapt to a lot of stuff way beyond our control and will fix all the problems we had we had less than a week to address the parking lot being dug up, and three other events being thrown into the mix. Sam set the schedule to play and time so we went with what he wanted and he did an excellent show. we did end up with a decent turn out of 173 cars but rain got several in Houston, and they cancelled, I am in no way making excusses and understand all your input, and appreciate it, we had way more surprises than could be expected, and did not plan on giving up half the grounds for stupid stuff but we tried to adapt the best we could. Guys please email me [email protected] with any sugestions or ideas how we can improve and next year there will be no conflicts and 99% of the problems we had will not be an issue.
I do want your input and sugestions, just please understand the spectator and swap meet had to be put out in the front because of all the was going on in the back and no parking lot for any of it. Thanks guys for coming out we will resolve all problems with grounds and have a much better show next year.

Tha wounded Warrior project car that will be built and given to a wounded soldier that had to give his up from injuries or finacial problems from rehab was the focus and raised a good bit of money for them, and the Patriot Guard Riders who escort fallen soldires to their funeral really appreciated all of your support.

Please Email me or call the shop [email protected] 281.286.2106 and give us your suggestions and opinions for improvement for next year, and any one that want to be involved in the build of the car for the soldier contact me as well.

    Thanks
    Magic
