The roof is not proportionate at all. I think that and the cloth top has just thrown it all off. And for 30k I would expect the engine bay to be presentable.

  6. Yea they pretty basically dropped the ball on the dash and the interior in general. Ripped tweed door panels, it appears to have no carpet. Not what you'd expect from a high zoot car.

Nice concept though, I guess. A lincoln ute.

Think I saw this car in Lansing at the KKOA show, that would be almost exactly 10 years ago...maybe even before that...My first impression when I saw it was wondering if this was supposed to fix a chop gone real bad,or was it just a different "vision" of how to build a Merc.
Used to be one of these sitting in a junkyard in East Tennessee with a steel roof years ago,a place called Biddles,I think.Looked dang near factory.Rear window looked like late 40s,early 50s Ford truck panel, and the work was very well done.Add that to the list of cars I should have tried to buy.Haven't been by there in years, sure all the cars are gone, anybody know what happened to those cars???

I remember seeing an old torched nomad turned camino years back, at least it was done decently. But ya gotta give the guy some credit for trying to be different.

  12. No Shit...

I was just looking over my flock of Mercs, yesterday, and one is missing the decklid and the back window has been cut out, completely. I thought about doing the exact same thing. It's a fordor, so I could weld the back doors and it would have a longer bed and room behind the seat.

I think I'd want to fab a removable hardtop, with a porthole window (like an early T-bird) and leave the suspension stock.
With the fordor, the top would be a little "bigger" and more in proportion to the overall size of the car.

    I like "different"...

little to much money to invest in a car that needs such a fix up
but that version is much better!
