Just got it back from the restorer. Got the custom center cap too.......
That's probably the best thing I've laid eyes on today
Niiiiiiice! Where did you have it done? Mine needs a total recast and looking for suggestions.
Quality Restorations, Inc. They are located in Poway, California.
very purty.........but im POSITIVE it would look a lot better in my merc!
Thanks for the info! Hoping to get mine done one of these days.
that cap is sweet!
That's a nice lookin' wheel. And the cap is awesome.
Dare I ask how much it cost?
Sweet........Damn that looks good!
I saw that guy at Pebble Beach...the wheels are amazing....
They are "Expensive, plus tax"
But worth EVERY penny
THAT IS AWESOME!!!!!
Is that a hologram???
Whatever he charged wasn't enough. haha
How about a "before" pic?
Man, that really looks nice.
Don't have a before pic. He takes them down to the bare frame and recasts them.
I don't know how he does the cap, but I had to have one.
I knew tokyo would weigh in..
that is certainly the neatest I assume the car is a similar green??
The car is emerald green.
I remembered that I saw a previous post on accessory horn buttons being repopped by Dennis Carpenter so I looked it up in his catalog. $100 for either style. I haven't seen the black button on the right before...anybody know why there's two styles?
I think they made a white wheel and a black wheel for convertibles.
Just in case anyone has a bucket of cash laying around...Dennis has a restored wheel for sale for $2,500. The wheel comes with a matching gear shift knob and turn signal knob. From what I have seen these go for on ebay and elswhere, this is a killer deal.
I think the "black" emblem is for Lincolns.
Do you happen to know who restored the wheel Mr. Carpenter has for sale?
That's just amazing! Icebox has a beautiful one too...
Hey 19 Fordy,
I believe it's Dennis at Quality Restorations, who has the wheel for sale.
Now I have to get the stock steering column put in, so I can run it.
Very nice. I have a plan to let that company restore my Lincoln steering wheel and make it translucent... I dont think the black one is for Lincoln, that is a Mercury-head, the Lincoln center-part did have a Lincoln-crest.
Good luck with the Lincoln. Cool magazine.
