Event Coverage Memorial Car Show for Bill Papke,PIC'S ADDED!!!

That is Bills roadster and my car in 1998.Also the first roadster I ever rode in and Bill mashed the throttle pretty good as I remember.Im going to miss Ol Bill,had a lot of good memories with him.Stayed with him a couple times and helped him sell at the swapmeet a few times.It was cool to go with Bill on Saturday to set up and drink plenty of coldones.He helped me out plenty of times during my build and we had some arguments but mostly fun memories.He took a liking to me and sold my grandpa and I the car for almost half the price!!! Yes you heard right....Bill went down to almost half price.If you knew Bill then you know he didn't do that very often. The car was going to go to Japan and Bill was happy to see a young man that was in love with mercs end up with the car. It was safe to say he liked me and by him selling that car for that price,it changed my life forever.I seriously doubt I would of gotten another Merc and probably wouldn't of became obsessed with Customs.Bill helped point me in the right direction.It was fun listening to all the great 50s music and getting buzzed with Bill.Oh ya....he also is the one who gave me Dick Deans phone number.Little did we know it would end up being Dicks last chop he would ever do.

Bill was a big part of my life in the world of Mercurys and I already miss him.He is up there cruising with his idol..... James Dean .
