The red roadster looks a heck of a lot like Greys at first glance! Very cool collection of cars going across the block
5 excellent cars, and while none of them brought stratospheric prices, they all did pretty well, especially at an auction that doesn't necessarily cater to this era of hot rods and customs.
I enjoyed snooping at all the listings...there were many beautiful rides. Way out of reach for me but it's nice to see them out in the daylight.
did you guys know that the Woodard roadster was at one time restored back to Henry Ford original and then later restored back to the Rod and custom cover car version? pretty weird huh?
Reminds me of Hambers saying they are keeping the OEM and bolting on the Hotrod... For that very reason...
Looks to me like the "fad bidders" have moved on from old Hot Rods. I wonder what the new "flavor of the week" will be? They've been through VW 23 window vans, C10's, old Broncos, and Toyota Land Cruisers. I'm sure they'll find somewhere to land.
My exact thought too. First glimpse at the small pic I thought it was but then noticed no primer on the rear fender... **sigh of relief!**
I watched a little Barret-Jackson this week. Old stuff that we like, unless it's historically significant is selling way under the cost to build. Even to build at home! Pennies on the dollar of a pro-build. One exception is the Barris Olds convertible that Foose helped get ready for auction, a no-sale at $75K (Mecum)
I'd say yes...see link below... https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/a-resilient-rail.1076397/#post-12205606
