I was hoping someone out there who has some 53 Cadillac wheel covers could measure the internal (ie center) area for me (see below), so that I can work out what size bullet and flipper bars I can use (like on Dave Leather's car - see below also). Cheers, Dave
Thanks CadMan. I really really appreciate you doing that for me. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Hey CadMan. Would you mind measuring the internal diameter of the center also, both on the inside and the outside of the lip (see pictures below), so I can work out what size bullet to purchase - sorry, I have bought a set of the 53 Caddy wheel covers, but they haven't arrived from the US yet! Cheers, Dave
G'day Dave, You are lucky that my 53 conv is only a few steps from my computer. Going by your pics I reckon first measurement is close to 120 mm and the second is 140mm. If you have no sentimental attachment to the old crests let me know as I could use a couple or so. The taper upwards both ways is 70 mm I'd try not to drill the cap if you can help it. Worst case I'd silicone the spinners with a blob . If you change your mind you can aways carefully remove it. The 53 Caps is a beautifully simple design. Personally I'd use a bullet but no the spinners.
Thanks heaps CadMan. When my 53s arrive, and if the crests are in good shape, I'll send em your way. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
When you get the bullets and spinners on, post what you bought and how you did it. I have a set of these I'm putting on my 1950. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
