    Just remember, it doesn't matter what it appraises for....

    To you or me, that car is worth more than what it is going to appraise at.

    That is why you use a insurance company that will insure it for an aggreed value.

    The appraiser is probably going to tell you 5 grand or so, I'm no expert and just guessing.

    We know how hard it is to find a car like that, so insure it for a realistic amount that reflects that, 8-9-10G.

  3. I think you're absolutely right about the hobby being about people as much as the cars. Yeah, you can just build, drive, and do your own thing - but it's a much richer experience with relationships like the one you're building with gramps. Super cool.
