Technical maybe a dumb question?

    i have had this fan for a long time and i was going to mount it but i can't remember how it goes on. the first pic is the fan and the second and third pics are the direction of the curve when mounted. click on the pic for bigger pic. any help?

  2. Are there no small scratches or imprints from the tightening of the nuts ? That would be to the outside and the inside mounting surface should be clean. Otherwise small paint discrepencies.

    Rivet heads to the front. Makes sure the hole is snug on the extension or water pump.

    thanks for the replies. no, there are no markings or scratches. must not have been used much. at least now i know. thanks again.

    Now that we know which way it goes, what is the purpose of the curved ends?

    makes the blades a little more efficient...something about reducing the vortex at the end of the blades?

    I had a fan with bent ends like that once...mostly because of the front crossmember. After about 20 minutes it did quiet down though:p Problem solved:D

    Exactly. A fan is nothing more than an air foil. The curved ends keeps high pressure (engine side in your case) from invading low pressure side (radiator side). In other words hot air exiting from cooling fan has less of a chance to become reintroduced into face of the fan.
