Some friends stopped by after work and gave me a hand.. I took pictures... everyone likes pictures.. Got all the glass out and started making templates: Here is a peak at the gutted window channels and cage... Magic took the old rear end mounts off so we could remount the rear.. going to need to rechrome it later... Also check out my chrome ladder bars. Welded motor mounts onto frame, then drilled the frame and sleeved it with a stick of DOM tubing to mount the steering box.. still need the right bolts. ***** Thanks to Mark Ford, John Speck, Matt Quinn and Magic for all of your help. It might just be possible!
I wish I could (not kidding either)... earliest we'll get there is Friday! Were you there when we had the big conversation about the true meaning of Master Blaster with Luke? haha... We had like 2 or 3 different theories running...
I wasn't there for that conversation Remind me when you come down. Posted from the TJJ App for iPhone & iPad
So here we are, the Tuesday before roundup. All day it's been in my head that if I make it, its going to be close. Been rethinking my original plan a little, which relied on a buddy from California coming in last Sunday which got pushed to this Thursday. Trying to make sure everything is lined up, large orders of parts starting to trickle in. I can do it. Lost today because I had to hall some parts home, and then... unloading 2 transmissions various other parts and 1 champ quick change I tweak my back trying to navigate the rearend in my garage. So I guess that's probably it. I am bummed, when my back goes it usually is pretty fucked for about 3 days. And I am starting to think its for the best. I really don't want to rush it. I want to do everything right the first time. So a few more weeks of work is what its going to take I guess. But I will have her out during the open house at Austin Speed Shop on Friday and will of course be there Saturday for the party. I am not a social butterfly and can be quiet, but I encourage you to come check it out and get to know me and the great guys at the shop. I will be the one with the red goatee moping around drowning my sorrows On a good note I am happy to sleep now, but when everyone is out cruising around having fun.. It's going to be hard. Maybe next year everyone can see Master Blaster with the built Pontiac mill and my next project my 41 Ford truck. Thanks to everyone who helped, offered to helped, and gave words of encouragement. It really kept me going knowing other people were as into this car as I am.
Kail, sorry for the set back on the 55. it was good to meet you the other day. good luck on the rest of the build.
All good things come with some pain sometimes, and it looks like your back probably did you a favor. It was meant to be, now you will build it the way you really want it, and not have to worry about rushing it, and re-doing something down the road. Keep your head up, and enjoy the weekend!
Kail keep your head up. Looking forward to the rest of the build. Hope your back gets better. You will be happier in the long run taking your time and not having to re build.
Looking good Kail! Can't wait to have two '55 builds going at the shop. We are going to need to square off some day when they are both running.
Unfortunately when you do it for a living your projects suffer. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Well I am looking at the responsible thing to do right now and I am thinking good ol Master Blaster might be on the market soon. Entertaining offers, I want to keep the sbc, this one is not fully built to MB standards anyway. Will possibly include a muncie
Working on other deals but want to pay some stuff off to buy a house. Whatever is left would go to the 41 Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
