I absolutely love the dash in your hotrod! I'm thinking of building one similar to it for my '40 as they are next to impossible to find. I need to find a set of gauges though, as there is nothing reproduction or aftermarket that I can find unless I pay out the wazoo for a custom-made set.

Anyway, the whole car is and amazing piece of craftsmanship! Dash is only icing on the cake. Keep on rollin!

Where is the drain pan going ? did I miss that? Dash looks amazing and even better with gauges now. You just can't beat original style gauges for look and style.

I had a 54 Buick Rivera .The spedo was a roller with a red line . I could run the red line all the way over to the radio, [IMG]

Would rock in a '40, show me a pic if you do the swap:)
It is the rear window drain.

That makes a hard time when the radio change channel in high speed ;)

Here is what Im dealing with at the moment.

That dash is going to look really good in the car. Anymore pictures of it?

Hey I happen to work at an old shop that has speedo repair stuff and been doing it since the 40's, If you can get me a thread size and pitch I can run threw some of the old stuff and see what I can come up with. Also I can make you a joint(gear reducer) to calibrate it, But I would measure how far off you are after you drive it to be more accurate.
We still have all the stuff to make custom speedo cables also.
PM me if I can help.

Wow, I've been reading your build thread for the last hour and I really admire your fabrication skills. I've book marked many of your ideas to steal later. Keep it up, really enjoying watching this come together!

I think someone said it earlier, but I think the art deco-inspired dash is fantastic! Great work.

Would you happen to have dimensions for the dash? I intend to build one for my '40 Ford and it would be helpful to have something to go by. It doesn't have to be exact... something around napkin sketch quality. Or simply the diameter of the speedometer will work as well, and then I'll just use ratios for the rest.

Besides that, keep up the excellent work! She is quite the beauty.:D

Thanks Fellas , ThiBuilder.the dash is at the paintshop right now but as soon as I get it back I'll make you a napkin drawing. You have to make a buildthread of your dash project !

Latest thing going on is that I helped a friend with his 32 frame, notched it and also made a "U" to clear the axleshaft.

I really like how everything you make has class and flows. Astounding.

Also, thank you for wanting to help! It really is going to airstream the manufacturing process. I will definitely make a build thread once I have the sheet metal to get started, my welder is fixed, and my initial sheet-metal work is satisfactory enough for public display;).

    Anyways... keep on rollin'.
