I almost walked right past it, initially thinking it was just a repaint of a car done by John something or other (NorCal $$ guy who used to turn and burn kustoms, mostly all orange pearl) till I spied Morty's name on the entry card. Obviously, I spent some time admiring it. Beautiful piece.

It showed up in my driveway the day before it was supposed to be shipped to the show. Clint Ring (one of the builders) knocks on my door and says "wanna see Morts Merc"? He was giving it a last shake down cruise, and he only lives about a mile from me....really nice car.

Any more info? That is the best looking '54 I've seen. How much and how was the chop done?

Amazing custom! Absolutely beautiful! 2" chop- subtle and works! Last few issues of Hop up have been following the build.

The more I look at it the more I like it. Great!

I would love to drive just off its quarter panel for a few hundred miles and just watch it dip down the road.

  16. It's so subtle. It doesn't really look like it has anything done to it! Very nicely done...

AMAZING! We fell in love with this one at the show. My dad & my son really admired the workmanship; every detail was put into this Mercury! I have some great pics of this one as well.

Kongrats Mark, Your Merc is PURE BUTTER!!

HAMBers, if you get the opportunity, you have to see this car
    in person to appreciate it.

This is how kustoms should be built. All of the changes that were
made, compliment the original design and the class of the Mercury.
They're so subtle you over look them. The Chop top proportions
are perfect. A lot can be learned by studing the design and all
    of the details.

The Okie's behind the build did a great job.

Sam Rambo, Clint Ring, Tim Goodbar and Jason Smith.

I'm proud to be an Okie!!

    Happy Trails,

    Mick

It is a beautiful car. The pictures are great but it is REALLY something in person. Definitely a ride to be proud of.

The car is beautiful... When I first saw it I called my brother over, and read the owners name and asked my brother, "He has his own magazine, but I wonder if he'd let us shoot it?"

    Great show this year!

That thing is beautiful. I think the 54 taillights are the best ever no matter what they are on.

Killer machine! I didn't realize it was Morty's on the several occasions that I looked at it. My girlfreind Mary really liked that one too, she's kind of a Merc nut and Morty's really stood out for her.
