Cast iron? Aftermarket pot metal? There are a few different ways to go about this.

Well, I kinda figured that but thought I would ask. I have actually seen people weld them even though cast is a mother to weld to. They took there time and welded, grinded, repeat! I have personally used a product called "Devcon" to get me by. Would not be my first option but it worked at the time.

Braze does work, for me it is not to plentiful here in small town iowa. Devcon I picked up through fastenal at the time, it is like a super jb weld! I stuck a penny in the left over mixture when I was done and have taken a hammer to it and it doesn't even crack. Good luck man

Pitting won't matter if the pits don't actually reduce the flange thickness right across the surface, the gasket will cover them up. Exhaust-grade metallic silicone helps. If it's really bad, another 216 manifold won't be hard to find.

Heat the area where you want to repair and braze it , or you can repair it by welding it with nickle rod, if you are able , it helps to drill a small hole on either side of the area that is to be repaired. Rick.
