I just saw a breaking news on it . It is terrible. Prayers from me too. They figure about twenty to thirty vehicles involved. Only good thing is it was under repairs so it was less lanes opened otherwise there would probably been more people and vehicles involved.

  7. I live in Saint Paul. This bridge is the major thorough fare through the city. Thank god it was under construction and down to one lane each way. I can't imagine what chaos is in that area right now.

  8. yeah , it looks bad..i know a couple guys that live close to it .no answer on the phone

that's is a VERY busy bridge (i've been over it hundreds of times) during rush hour

    that looks terrible...

I was coming home over the Delaware Memorial, only two days ago, and got a really uneasy feeling...just marveling at how REALLY outrageous a bridge is...and how positively helpless, and at its mercy you are until you are on the other side. My heart goes out to all involved.

  20. looks as tho it just fell down it was open to just a few lanes north /south that were bumper to bumper some fell on land some dumped into the river at least about a 50 foot drop to the river then with other cars trucks and semis falling with the mangled debri hospitals wer pretty close on either side of the river but gettin to victims is a tricky deal cuz they are now isolated and the roads around are cut off cuz of the collapse
major problem for those involved and for future travel in this town

Scary, scary stuff. I am just now getting to the computer after being glued to it for quite a while on the tube. It seemed a lot like the twin towers situation in that there were a lot of firemen/policemen just standing around because I don't think they were able to do a whole lot.

I hope there aren't people trapped under water waiting for rescue as it gets dark... But you can't help but know there must be...

The person driving the white car appears to have cheated death by about 10 feet. And I'll bet they were doing everything they could to push that brake pedal right through the floorboard.

  24. I get a bad feeling too. But there's a lot of possibe reasons for something like that to happen - they all suck, some just suck worse than others. At least they got all the kids out of the school bus -

My thoughts and prayers go out to all of those involved, with loved ones involved, and those frantically dialing phones who aren't getting answers from those that may have been there.

The news said they just did a bridge inspestion in 2006 and found no structrial problems. Lucky there was resurfacing and bridge repairs going on so that 1/2 of the lanes were closed.

Prayers go out to the victims. I'm sure everybody wants to know what happened. We had a main bridge here in Mason that failed engineering before being put into service about three years ago. It was demoed and was rebuilt. Yes lots of things can make this happen, some worse than others.

Prayers for all. Our personal ones were answered with a phone call. We have a granddaughter who lives there. My wife called and found that our granddaughter was OK but that she had crossed that bridge 4 times today as she was moving from one apartment to another.
