In '74, I had a set of 13x7 American 4 spokes that looked just like yours called Libre's. They were aluminum.

I've got some MT radial drag slicks mounted on a pair of 10"X15" aluminum Daisys that are drilled 4.5" X5 that I use when I go to the strip with my roadster for nostalgia runs a couple times a year.
Sorta cruddy when I got them, and I cleaned them up with a bead blaster, then polished the outer lip and machined surface, then wiped them down with Gibbs oil and they still look pretty good.

Yes, those are also American Mag Wheels, but of another, more popular and better known style, but no more "real" than the 200S wheel.

I had a pair of magnesium 16x10 split rim bolt together wheels on a dragster I bought back in the early 70s. I hated the way they looked . To me they looked just like the nickname everyone was giving them. Daisies. Girly on a race car didn't work for me. I traded them for a fuel injection as soon as I got the opportunity. I still don't get why they ever made a pair of wheels that look like that. I am pretty sure that's why they are so rare. Sorry if I have hurt anyones feelings that like them. Just expressing my take on these. I have owned every style of magnesium drag wheels made and these are the only ones I can't stand. I guess we all have to really dislike something. Please forgive me and thanks for letting me get this off of my chest.

Hey no problem with me, I just wanted some lightweight wheels to mount my slicks on, and these were the first 10X15s I found with the correct backspace for my car and rear axle width.
I didn't buy them for their looks:)

Now those are "daisys", dont recall the designation given by American.
Pretty sure people started calling the 200-s the same thing, at least those that never owned them or never looked that close to tell the difference.
I always liked the 200-s (we called them Coke bottles), if the theme of the car was more performance oriented I preferred the "as cast" look.
I knew a guy with a dark green 69 Z/28 (sorry) that had 15x8's all around in the unpolished state and the car looked like a trans-am racer.
It was those cheezy chrome plated versions that came out later that ruined it for me.

Yes they did, as I understand it the Minilite's were used to replace the Americans when they started cracking, I suppose as tire compounds became stickier.

Here is an interesting discussion, albeit somewhat non Kosher here.

Swade41 : I believe that set may be a version made by Western Wheel. Do they have any markings on the back?

First wheel, American 200S for sure, 15 X 10 X 5.5" early Ford/Ford truck bolt circle. Second Wheel 15 X 10 X 5" bolt circle Chevy truck/some big GM passenger, Western, pretty sure. Think these were called a Daytona, no markings. My old boss gave me these two singles awhile back, Sure wish I could find a match for either or both. I prefer the smooth hoop on the Western. Last one my Willys! :)

Yeah they did. The Western ones have odd shaped spokes , compared to real Americans. The U.S. Spokes are near identical to Americans , but the hoops are different.

After American had to change foundrys, their weren't marked in the casting as being American, or so I've read on the article linked above.

Did some internet poking around. Western spokes sure are different. Funny, Daytona 200. Thanks for the lesson Bowie!

I've got a single 15x10 matching the top one, Chevy car pattern, and a single 15x7 of the second type (that I uniluged to try on my heap, there's slots on the other side in this photo). What I noticed (duh) is the diameter of the 'daisy' is larger on the rims with the smooth hoop, looks obvious on the Bantam.

I have 15x10s all around on my Vette. Wouldn't mind twp 14x6 or 7 for the Bantam. The two singles I don't need, I have two more 15x10s for the rear.

It will be a long search to find a pair of those 15x4's, and when you do they will be expensive.
