I have to go be with 20 biker build off dudes ..........most have nicknames, drama, and big ego's. wait till I ride into las vegas with my light up cowboy suit and hammererd aluminum hat helmet, just to let them all think to themselves .......................................could I make that?? off topic but not fun lil project- Cole
Now that is cool. Give is a write-up on how you made it. Is it one piece and stretched/shrunk, or did you make the bowl and rim seperate and weld them together...? Doc.
bro,,, thats fukin INSANELY kool!!!!! very nice work, and a stetson lining to boot... (altho deduct three points for not using a Charlie One Horse lining) Traves
made paper pattern of of a hat. so brim is one piece, almost all shape was a strecher operation then made a slightly coned shape tube welded weld tube to brim made dome on bag , 2 pieces ,welded down the middle welded dome to top of tube then put bag inside of hat, hammered big dent right on weld in the middle, then to smaller ones on each side. The took copper tubing in my english wheel till flat, anealed and shaped around oval of hat, when it fit ,marked and soldered, grind, filled , sand ,polished. had a beat up ol stetson stole inner liner and glued into mine. going to mass produce them...........not. xoxox CF
that's cool as hell. impressive work, as always. is it 3003? a light up suit too, eh? i say you challenge them to a mechanical bull ride-off... proper urban cowboy style.
OK. A more general question: Do you do most of your larger shaping via english wheel then? Maybe a 70's style Captain America Helmet in 3 color anodized next???
now all you need is an aluminum vest and chaps..."wait'll they get a load of me". cowboy armor?
Truly amazing, aw-inspiring piece of art. A word to the wise, however. Be careful riding your bike if you make a pair of chaps, otherwise it could bring new meaning to the term "canned nuts"!!!!
