Will a M15 oil pump fit in an 8BA with a truck oil pan (the one with the cleanout)?

Yes it will fit, but why would you want to use it? The M-19 is the way to go.

Just checkin' it out as an option. Got low pressure (15lbs) but have not been into the engine yet. Happened suddenly so it could be a stuck bypass valve. Motor has lot of time on it but I still can't hear any rods knocking. Oil pressure was ok before I put it in this build (after sitting a couple of years).

I had to mod my 8BA pan to fit the M-15 high volume pump. The body was too long and required a bit of body work.

Passenger car pan tho, not a truck pan.
I also tapped a pipe thread plug in the bottom of the reservoir to drain that area during oil changes.

My pan is a little different...it's the truck pan with the screen and cleanout in the bottom..

So it has a rear sump? If so it should clear. Mine only needed about an inch? I went a bit further to make sure it cleared. I looked at some truck pans on the internet just now and they look like they have plenty of room for the high volume pump.

Phil...That's a 'rare part'. Bonneville Bud 'Flathead' Jones paid large $$ for one in '75. It went on his '27 'Nose Job'...

Can some one measure the diameter of the gears from an M15 pump and post?

If it's anything like a HV pump for an SBC, the gears are the same diameter, but are about 1/2" longer. It would be nice to know the respective lengths as well.

I don't recall the exact measurement but I think, with the pan gasket installed, I needed just over 1/2" and I gave it an inch more just to be safe

I have read about guys hammering out the pan to clear so it evidently doesn't need much.
