I drive on a rock road so paint jobs are pretty much shot after 5 years. Painting with PPG or DuPont is pricey so the last time I used some el cheapo stuff from online. Don't know whether it was the painter or the product but it acts like no hardener was used and two years later one can imprint the single stage coating with a thumbnail. Now for the luck: not a single rock chip and not one star chip from rocks hitting from the underside. Won't color sand or buff worth a darn but it sure protects the metal. Looks are iffy.

Always wondered how a paint job could hold up to rock/ bug chips using a flex agent in it like you would use on rubber bumpers, etc..? Hate them hard paint chips !

Most flex addatives evaporate out when the paint is cured.
