That's the finest "Pimp Coffin" interior I've ever seen! The rest of the car is wonderfully detailed and well executed!
Refreshing Shoebox thread. Not the same ol build. Cool interior, motor looks killer and the attention to detail everywhere is amazing. I look forward to seeing this one in person.
Got it back and started knocking out Smalls. Tonight I got everything except Headlights and Dome lights. Also fired it up for the first time. Needs some timing but it caught. Dels gonna help me pipe notch it in a few weeks then off to exhaust. Also got a hood from a 51' to replace my junked 49' hood. I need to clean it up and redo the custom work but it's the most solid hood I've seen in a while.
@BloodyKnuckles you too Brother...The new mods to the International are fucking amazing btw!! So thought out. It's like a whole new genre of Custom you invented. I'll see you Wednesday, I'll bring the good coffee.
I totally agree. I thought I'd hate the interior but I love it. I do think you missed the era you were shooting for with it though. I'm thinking it's more circa 1977 with the Star Wars Chewbacca fur. Kidding aside, incredible work start to finish. Can't wait to see the paint job in the future.
After blowing my new crappy center DVC speaker last week I said screw it and went and got some high end speakers for the 49'. The wife loves Elvis what can I say. Also it has to be hidden. I ain't poking holes in my tuck n roll. No way these JL's will blow on that head unit. No way.
The only place to put those rear 6x9 JL's were right in the center of the rear seat base. I was unwilling to poke holes in my tuck n roll so a lil dab of Adhesive and you'll never see the seam. Still need to address mounting the pair of 5.25"s under the dash. I've done the math on the electrical system and I'm pretty certain I can run a 4 channel amp with the reserve from my Generator but wouldn't have any room left on the load for a SubWoofer. I'm not sure I even need a Sub once I mess with the levels. (I have ZERO other accessories. No AC, No heater, No Solenoid activated gizmos..nuthin except the Stereo)
Finally managed to get all the speakers in their respective homes. 2 -6x9" in the back...right behind the drivers and passenger seats. Between the legs of the rear passengers on the forward face of the seat frame. (Hidden) 2-5.25" under the dash in the stock center speaker location.(hidden) . Made my own bracket. It was tight with the wipers, clock, radio etc but I pulled it off. Amp goes in later this week. Safety drilled my throttle linkage. Installed speedometer cable. Dropped her back down on her shoes. Needs some timing work then it's off to exhaust/alignment next week.
The Amp is in and done. Need to mess with the Gains. I played with the timing and fuel pressure and took it down the driveway and back. Still needs a timing light and some fine tuning BUT.... It starts, moves forward, moves backwards and stops under its own power now. Time to drive it on to a trailer (or just open header highway style for 2 hours) and hit the exhaust shop SOON.
