Pretty cool thread on NHRA insider about Ramp trucks: Scroll down as there are a couple of parts over the last few weeks with installments.

    http://www.nhra.com/blog/dragster-insider/

Hoping to spot a vintage pic of my '53 Chevy Ramp truck someday...Someone out there must have a pic of it hauling a car in the 70's.......I bought from a racer in 2003 who owned it and hauled his '55 Chevy on it since the early 80's. I'd love to find out more from before that.

Here is the one I just purchased, and will embark on a cross country (Reno to Quebec) drive home next week.

Once it gets home it will be the proud carrier of my vintage modified.

If by chance anyone here knows the history of the truck , please do tell. Any suggestions as to its color would be greatly appreciated.

After 3000+ miles and 4 days I got the truck home. Along the way we stopped at a few places of interest, the most fun being the Bonneville salt flats.

Whats the most interesting about the salf flats is the lack of commercialism, theres nothing there, no people, no buildings, nothing, just a sign.

Here is a short video taken at the 5 mile(1/2 way) point.

awesome image, Big Dad! I remember when those trucks ran B/FX, and great colors on the hauler, too. If I remember, you have an exquisite silver mid sixties Dodge, don't you?

I hope they replaced that back window (now front) in the backward Pacer hauler, bounce a rock off of that at speed and that tempered glass will be all over their face & lap.

I myself want about early 70's or late 60's GM ramp truck..would be so much better than hauling my trailer to pick up toys..one less thing to unload when it comes time to go after someone, or something
