I have a bagged 62 belair wagon and it has a split shaft, of coarse, and a type one carrier bearing. I replaced the first one bc the rubber donut gave out. I found that the bracket had been cut down shorter than the OEM replacement I got. Now when I take off on heavy throtle for a stop or slow roll it sounds like it's giving out again. Anyone have this problem? Should I remake a shorter carrier bracket??

I remember seeing an ad for aluminum carrier bearings in Lowrider magazine years ago, maybe that would help?

Yeah, there is a solid aluminum carrier bearing block I could get. I was thinking the same thing but figured I would ask before I spent the $150 for it.
