a few weeks ago we torched the springs and got the front of the `bird out of the sky. yesterday I took a leaf out of the spring pack to get the back a bit lower...

I dont want it stupid "air bag" low, but I think I may torch the springs until the fenders are a little above the whitewall...

That's a great looking Watson'esque custom. I'm a big proponet of "lower is better" (especially when dealing with a square bird) but that car looks pretty damn good as it sits. I'd consider ride quality here too...

If the car still felt "big" to me, I'd go lower... But if your recent lowering job made you coming away feeling like the car felt a lot smaller, I'd walk away...

I think the rear needs to be 1/2" to 1" *higher*. That is if you drive it. If not then yeah drop the nose a tad more. Gotta love it too: spiderwebed, laced, scalloped - looks *fantastic*!

it drives so good right now. it must be sitting in the "magic spot" so I think I will leave it. plus my wife drives it with her foot in it...

as far as the spiderwebbing goes, it has to be done with laquer paint.

Yeah that's what I knew, I just thought maybe someone was withholding some information on how to do it otherwise!:p

Yeah. we have tried to do it with some other combos of secret sauce but it was all a no-go. so we had to do it the old fashioned way.

All the other paint on the car is by Old School Flake. These guys are great to deal with, have a ton of cool shit and there dry-flake system rules.

Front looks excellent! The back looks a touch low. Make sure your not going to bump the ass end on the ground if ya get a friend or two in the back seat.

How much did it affect the ride quality? Been thinkin about heating the springs on mine, but I'm scared I'll ruin the ride quality (what little there is at least)

it actually made it drive much better. it stiffend it up just a bit.

if you have never heated springs before, find an old guy or a cholo dude who works at a muffler shop in your area. They almost always know how to do them right.

You have a great looking car.

Any '58 Thunderbird begs comparison to Larry Watson's, which was stupid low due to the side pipes. But it sure looks cool. :)

Your car itself actually looks to be around the same height, but obviously without the pipes.
