I found the ugliest hot rod in the country with the help of a friend. It was hiding in a farm repair shop. Been sitting for 20 years. Instead of walking away, I bought it and want to give it a new lease on life. Find someone who will drive it and have fun. It's not expertly built or fancy. Has a good smooth steel body that I assume was a Tudor sedan cut down into a roadster. Older build from the early 70's or so. Ford 289 V8 and 3 speed on the floor. Orange carpet interior, big brown bucket seats. Somehow, I talked my pal Cuzzindeke to go halves with me and see what we can do to rescue this thing. He loves a good challenge. Here is what I saw the first time I laid eyes on it.

Loading it on the trailer with Cuzzindeke at the helm. This could just kill his reputation but what the hell.

Trying to change the car without spending much money is the theme here. Bought some enamel orange paint. Added some old Cragars that Dick had gotten powder coated chrome and new tires. Change this , change that. See what happens.

The engine awoke from it's slumber with no issues. Runs very good. Rebuilt the brakes. Stops very good. Moved the gas tank inside the car. Threw backseat away. Keeping the orange carpet for now to save time and money. It is in good shape.

Dick is building some zoomie headers and we are thinking about a tonneau cover since there is no top. Will move or change radiator and add grille shell too. Need headlights a different air cleaner as well as many other small changes. Been fun so far. We've only owned it about 10 days or so.

Great start! Solid looking mill. You can do a lot with that tub. Grill shell, bias tires, artillery wheels? Take your time and enjoy! Not as fun when they're done!

  26. I like it. You may have saved it from the crusher the way things are now a day's. Looks like the door's are welded shut and that's a long way up, (and back down.) I could probably do a nice graceful face plant from that altatude.

Yeah, I need to sell it to a young energetic kid who likes to jump in and climb out. Getting out might be the hard part.
