Great result for your recovery goal, you are right, it's all about family, friends and goals.. My niece, (32 years old) had a stroke a couple of years ago. Progress is slow so far, (she didn't get medical help for a few hours after the event, due to living on her own) but like you, with the help of family and friends she is very slowly getting back to the life she enjoyed..
